What is Climate Invested?

We created the site because there's so much fear and alarmism about climate change, and not enough about the solutions that are actually happening. Climate anxiety is on the rise, especially with younger generations. The goal of this site is to show people through real data that a lot of progress is happening on climate change, and to use that optimism to improve people's outlook and ultimately, empower action.

Is climate change real?

There are plenty of other sites out there that explore this in a lot more detail than we could, so we aren't looking to convince anyone here. Regardless of your thoughts on it, a lot of the actions we suggest have benefits outside of reducing emissions, like saving money.

Won't positivity make people complacent? We need people to see how urgent this is!

Fear and alarmism had their place, and were certainly an important part of bringing awareness to climate change, but we are past that stage. We are at the point now where there is enough momentum in the right direction that we need people to accelerate the progress, not change the direction. Fear drives people to freeze or stop what they are doing, but what is needed right now is pushing for more and faster progress. This requires a positive mindset and feeling like you can actually have an impact.

Isn't it naive to only look at the good and ignore the bad? You are just fooling yourself.

Blind optimism like this is not good - we do know that climate change is a very pressing problem that requires urgent attention. But if you are reading this, you probably already know that, and plenty of other sites have that covered. We aren't cherrypicking happy news stories or trying to hide the truth, we are looking at actual trends in the data for implementing solutions that don't get enough attention.

How is Climate Invested funded?

Currently, the site is a passion project, and has no monetization or funding. We may eventually add monetization through donation sites like patreon and potentially affiliate links, but any revenue will always go into further building the site or donations to climate projects. This site is fully not for profit.

Do you use generative AI?

We use AI tools to assist with developing the website and for generating some images. All content writing is written and edited by humans.
